We are excited to announce invitation for abstracts for our upcoming 2nd Sjögren Europe Patient Conference. This is an incredible opportunity for healthcare professionals, and researchers to share their experiences, research, and insights on living with Sjögren’s Syndrome.

Invitation to submit your work

Your abstracts provide the main added value for the conference and we encourage you to start early to think about a project that you want to share with colleagues.

We invite submissions that explore a variety of topics related to Sjögren’s, including but not limited to:

Submission Guidelines

Interested parties are kindly requested to read the following guidelines for preparing and submitting their abstracts before submission.

Text Formatting Guidelines

Abstract title
  • Maximum word count: Up to 25 words
  • Characters: UPPERCASE only
  • Font: Calibri
  • Font size: 15 pt
  • Style: Bold
  • Alignment: Justified
 
Abstract text
  • Maximum Word Count: Up to 250 words
  • Recommended Font: Calibri
  • Font Size: 12 pt
  • Alignment: Justified

Structure, Layout

Author
  • Characters: Title case (e.g., John Doe)
  • Recommended Font: Calibri
  • Font Size: 12 pt
  • Alignment: Justified
 
Author Information Structure
  • The first name should be listed before the last name, e.g., John Doe

  • The author’s name must be written in bold, e.g., John Doe

  • Each author should be associated with a corresponding superscript number (e.g., ¹, ²)

  • For each author, provide their title/position, affiliation/center, and city of origin

Example:
John Doe¹, Jane Doe²

¹Professor of Rheumatology, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, University Clinic, Athens Greece
²Director of Pathophysiology Clinic, General State Hospital of Nikaia

 
Abstract Structure

The abstract must be submitted according to the following sections:

  • Introduction

  • Purpose

  • Material

  • Methodology

  • Results

  • Conclusions

The above section headings must be written in title case (first letter capitalized) and in bold.

Additional Notes:

  • The abstract text may include images, diagrams, and tables, provided they are properly aligned and do not extend beyond the page layout in Word.

  • Please note that the word count will be affected if you include images, tables, or figures.

  • You can check the word count in Word via the Tools / Word Count menu or automatically from the lower left corner of the Word window.

 
Abstract layout

Abstracts should use the following structured format:

  • Background
  • Purpose
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusions
  • 3 to 5 keywords.
  • Implications
  • Funding acknowledgement
  • Ethical Approval
  • References: Up to 3 references published in the last 5 years.

Evaluation Process

  • All abstracts will be reviewed by a committee appointed by the President of the Organizing Committee.
  • Based on scientific merit and clinical relevance, the Committee members will determine whether the submitted abstracts are accepted for presentation.
  • The decisions of the Committee are final and cannot be appealed.

Publication and Responsibility

  • All accepted and presented abstracts will be published exactly as submitted.

  • The Organizing Committee, the Scientific Committee, and the Congress Organizing Company bear no responsibility for formatting, typographical errors, or omissions in the submitted abstracts.

  • Once the review process is completed, no modifications, additions, or corrections will be permitted.

Last but not least

Remember that:

    1. Submissions may not contain patient names, hospital ID numbers or other identifying information.
    2. Use generic names of drugs instead of brand-name drugs.
    3. The online submission system will restrict the word count.
    4. Click on the SUBMIT button at the end of the process in order to submit your abstract. Changes will not be possible to your abstract after it is submitted.
    5. After your abstract submittal, you will be sent an email confirming your successful submission and you will receive an abstract ID number. Please refer to this abstract number in all correspondence regarding the abstract.
    6. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please contact the SEPAC 2025 Conference Liaison Mrs Niki Mita
    7. Please do not submit multiple copies of the same abstract.
    8. Upon submission, the corresponding author is responsible for informing the other authors about the status of the abstract.
